Matilda is the daughter of William Bacome/Bekum and his wife Nancy Stevens, daughter of Christian John Stevens.

Ammon moved to St. Mary, Auglaize, OH, after Matilda died and Milton was raised there. He served in the Civil War and died young in a train accident while working as a signal man. Milton never married.

Ammon married Catherine Benner (Memorial ID 70685912), and she raised Milton as well as the children she had with Ammon.
