In 1854 he sold his land in Pickens County to J.A. Suber, and then moved to Texas, settling in Upshur County. His wife died either in S.C., before the family moved or in route to Texas or possibly in Texas. She was not listed with the family in the 1860 U.S. Federal Census for Upshur County.
On October 19, 1873, Isaiah married his 2nd wife, Edna E. Ellison in Upshur County,Texas. To this union was born a son, Tom.
Isaiah, lived in Upshur County for 30 years & passed away on September 27, 1884. He was buried in the Shady Grove Cemetery.
