Carol was born on May 5, 1934, in Chilton, daughter of the late Claude and Dorothy (Schraeder) Muellenbach. She grew up and attended schools in Chilton. She married Eugene J. Christel in the town of Charlestown on November 28, 1951. He preceded her in death on August 2, 2004. In the past, Carol worked as a dietician/cook for Park Lawn Home in Manitowoc, Calumet Medical Center in Chilton, and Lakeland College in Howards Grove. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, canning, crafting, reading and playing cards.
Survivors include nine children: Michael Christel, Racine; Patricia and Jim Grabowski, Whitewater; Rosanne and Bruce Mosier, Hunlock Creek, PA; Jerome and Debra Christel, St. Nazianz, Mary Christel, Manitowoc; Karen and Chris Charles, Reedsville; Lori Christel, Egg Harbor and her former husband, John Kugle; Kristie and Todd Maertz, Reedsville, Markus and Coreen Christel, Evansville, IN; 19 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; five brothers and four sisters-in-law: four sisters and three brothers-in-law: Bud Muellenbach, Burlington; Helen (Everett) Henning, Kiel; Diane Meinert, Sheboygan Falls; Susan (Howard) Hoffchilds, Blaine, MN; Kevin (Kathy) Muellenbach, Sheboygan Falls; Heather Muellenbach, Oshkosh; Robert Muellenbach, Milwaukee; Alan (Flaye) Muellenbach, Marrieta, GA; Jim (Debbie) Muellenbach, Brillion; Rita (Dan) Klauck, CO Nieces, nephews otther relatives and friends also survive. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at Knollwood Memorial Chapel Mausoleum, 1500 Highway 310, Manitowoc. Deacon Paul Kieffer will officiate with entombment to follow in Knollwood Mausoleum.
