Final Rites Are Held For Mrs. Preston Mize

Funeral services were held Sunday at 3:30 p.m. at the Nolanville Baptist church for Mrs. Preston Mize, 85, who died at 1:50 p.m. Saturday in a Temple hospital after a long illness. Rev. A. D. Parrott, assisted by Rev. L. B. Parks, officiated. Burial was in McDowell cemetery.

Pallbearers were Alvin Phillips, Earl Phillips, Bunn Alexander, Bob Boyd, Alvin Sutton and Calvin Hibler. Heartfelt funeral home was in charge.

Mrs. Mize was born in North Carolina Jan. 14, 1871, and had lived in Nolanville for 63 years. She had been an active member of the Baptist church since she was 14 years old.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. B. L. Thompson of Belton and Mrs. D. L. Murphy of San Juan; two grandsons, Murrell Thompson of Lubbock and Preston Murphy of San Juan; two great-grandchildren and several brothers and sisters. Her husband and one daughter, Mrs. E. W. Guest, preceded her in death.
