William Mathieu
William Mathieu, 55, of West Front street, who had been ill six weeks, died Saturday at a Bangor hospital, where he had been for 29 days.
He was born February 4, 1889 in St. Victor, Canada, the son of Paul and Celina Vigue Mathieu. He had resided here for 54 years,
He was formerly employed at the Shoe factory, but more recently had been a car salesman.
He is survived by three sons, Silvio, with U.S. Army somewhere in Italy, Pvt. Ernest M., a patient at a hospital in Temple, Tex., Richard of Fairfield; two daughters, Mrs. Lillian Oquitones of San Antonio, Tex., Mrs. Constance Walsh of Englewood, N.J.; four grandchildren, Pauline and Carol Mathieu of Fairfield and Shelia and Thomas Walsh of Englewood, N. J.; one sister, Mrs. John Casey of Portland; four brothers, Andrew, Theodore and Edward of Skowhegan and Arthur of Bath.
He was a communicant of Notre Dame de Lourdes church, where funeral services will be held Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock. The body will be placed in the receiving vault until burial in Calvery cemetery in the Spring.
