Elijah Eskridge is the son of Richard Eskridge and Elizabeth Reynolds. He first married Harriett P. Wikins on December 4, 1834 in Rutherford County, North Carolina, and they had three children. She died in 1844 and he married again to Margaret D. Washburn on April 12, 1846 in Cleveland County, NC. They had seven children. He also has eight siblings.
