The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 28, 2011 at First Baptist Church Chapel, with the Rev. Ralph Riley officiating. Burial will be at Unity Cemetery.
Born in Rock Hill, Mrs. Howington was a daughter of the late James Russell McKeown and Mannie Robinson McKeown. She
graduated from Fort Mill High School. Mrs. Howington was retired from Springs Industries. She was a member of First Baptist Church and the Pearl Smith Sunday School Class, where she was a former Sunday School Teacher.
Surviving are her son, Andy Howington of Fort Mill; three grandchildren, Eegee Howington Lanum, Brandie Howington Horne and Brooke Howington-Gaines, all of Fort Mill; and seven great-grandchildren, L.A., Wil, Tyler, Carley, Tanner, Jordan and Cade. She was preceded in death by her husband, Telford Howington (1987); and a son, Gary Wayne Howington (1972).
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at the First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall; and other times at the home of Andy Howington.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to National Kidney Fund, c/o Fort Mill Dialysis Center, 535 River Crossing Drive, Fort Mill, S.C. 29708.
