Teddy came from a broken home when we got him in 1996. He was one of my furry children. When I first layed eyes on him, I didn't know what to think. He had these splayed feet, eyes that protruded and had a strange bark. And on top of that his tail looked as if it had been cropped. A Pug dog doesn't have a cropped tail--it's supposed to curl! We opened the crate when he first arrived and he started barking at the fireplace! My first impression was decidedly not favorable. And then he approached me and jumped into my lap and made himself comfortable. He had already begun to work his way into our hearts.

Well almost immediately we found that he was slowly going blind for which he had to take medication for the rest of his life(that's probably why he barked at the fireplace). At 6 years old, his hips went bad. We had to travel to Washington state for his treatment. Thousands of dollars (it was worth it)later we took him home and had him for another 8 years. I always sensed he was happy that he finally found a home where he was loved. He was almost never on a leash and he would never venture away from home. He always wanted to be where we happened to be. He sat where we sat, he slept where we slept and if we went to the restroom, you could be sure he would be waiting right outside the door. He was very sweet and we miss him dearly.
