Mrs. Irlavere Searl Barnum, 78, widow of the late Judge William L. Barnum of County Court, died at 11:45 A.M. today at S. State St. Nursing Home. She had been in ill health for the last two years. Mrs. Barnum was a native and life resident of Syracuse. Born April 26, 1869, she was the daughter of Dr. Ichabod Howe Searl and Jane Darrow Searl, and a sister of Supreme Court Justice Clifford Searl.
Until her illness, Mrs. Searl Barnum was active in church and civic affairs in Syracuse. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and of the Smith College Club, the Social Art Club and of Harmony Circle. She was a graduate of Burnham School for Girls at Northampton, Mass., and attended Smith College.
