Evelyn Mayfield was born 24 December 1909 in Quincy Illinois. Her parents were Logan W. Mayfield and his wife, the former Louise Altgilbers.

Evelyn Mayfield was employed as a saleslady for Carson, Pirie, Scott and Company and for Halbach-Schroeder, in Quincy Illinois.

James Finke and Evelyn Mayfield were married, 9 October 1937 in Quincy Illinois.

Mrs. Finke belonged to St. Peter Catholic church and St. John Catholic church in Quincy Illinois, and to Blessed Sacrament church in Morton Illinois.

Evelyn Finke passed away 29 November 2005 at a nursing home in Morton Illinois. Three brothers: David, Logan, and Walter Mayfield; predeceased her.

A requiem mass for the repose of Mrs. Evelyn Finke was given at St. John the Baptist church of All Saints Parish in Quincy Illinois. The interment was at Greenmount in Quincy Illinois.
