Names of Saturday shooting victims released
The Shreveport Times
A woman killed in a shooting on Fairfield Avenue Saturday night, and her wounded male companion, have been identified by Shreveport police. A man found dead on a residential street about a mile or two north also has been identified.
The dead woman has been identified as Roshenna Crowder, 25, who was shot multiple times with a male companion, Donald Brown, also 25. Police believe they were the victims of a home invasion/robbery when at least three armed men burst into their house in the 6100 block of Fairfield Avenue shortly after 9 p.m. Saturday.
Crowder was dead at the scene when police arrived. Brown was rushed to LSU Hospital in Shreveport, where he remained in critical condition late Sunday.
Police said two children, ages 6 and 8, were in the home at the time of the shootings but they were not injured.
At midnight, police were called to the 3700 block of Richmond Avenue after a driver notice a body in the road. There, police found 35-year-old Tony Sheppard suffering from at least two gunshot wounds. Sheppard also was taken to LSU Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.
Detectives do not believe the shootings are related but, at this early stage in their investigations, they are not ruling anything out, a release from Shreveport police said.
Anyone with information about either incident should call Shreveport police detectives at (318) 673-6955 or Shreveport-Caddo Parish Crime Stoppers at (318) 673-7373.
