In Alfred, N. Y., Feb. 2d, 1877, Marilla, wife of Frederick Sherman, in the 54th year of her age. She had for several years suffered from a derangement of the liver, from which she could get no permanent relief although resort was had to every remedy in which there was any hope. Toward the close of her life, she came to suffer very much both from pain and exhaustion, and this continued with her until death closed the struggle. For many years she had been a member of the First Seventh day Baptist church of Alfred, in the fellowship in which she died.
