Oakdale--Funeral services for Mrs. Eugenia Ballard, 73, of the Ballard community, east of Oakdale, who died Wednesday at 7:15 p.m. were held Thursday at the Mount Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Starks Johnson of Hineston, officiating. Burial was in the Beaver Creek Cemetery under direction of Hargrove Funeral Home of Oakdale.
Surviving her are her husband, W.T. Ballard of the Ballard Community; three sons, Col. DeWitt Ballard of the US Army, Belgium; Arthur Ballard, Chief of Police, Oakdale; Hardy Ballard of Oakdale; three daughters, Mrs. Evie Havens, Mrs. Ella Tyler, Mrs. Dovie Wiggins, all of Oakdale; 15 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
