Kira Goddard, age 13 of Brooklyn, New York, died a heroine.
She was sitting on her stoop on Pacific Street with some friends when she noticed an SUV driving erratically.
The SUV was speeding toward her and 6 others, including her 14 year old sister Tanisha Harewood. She yelled out, "Run, Run," to everyone. She was able to save the others but she was unable to save herself.
Kira's funeral was held Friday, August 12, 2011, in Brooklyn. The service was held at Saint Gabriel's Church in Crown Heights. Goddard will be buried Saturday morning at Maple Grove Cemetery in Kew Gardens, Queens.
