Jane was the daughter of Thomas Mann & Mary Righton.

She was christened at Kineton, Warwickshire, England, United Kingdom on November 25, 1849.

Jane married John Edwin Hine at Worcestershire, England, United Kingdom on February 15, 1878 and had at least 9 children before immigrating to Canada about 1901 and settling in Muskoka & Parry Sound, Ontario, Canada, before moving out west to BC.
