Horace Walpole passed away at the Oakdale Sanitarium in Johnson County, Iowa. He grew to manhood in Sioux County, Iowa, where he attended the Rock Valley public schools, including Rock Valley High School. He graduated with the class of 1925. Mr. Walpole attended the Iowa State College at Ames, Iowa, for one year. He was a graduate of the University of Iowa Commerce school. Following his graduation he held a responsible position in Chicago for a few years. He became ill soon after that and it was necessary for him to give up his work and enter a sanitarium for treatment. He was soon able to leave the sanitarium, but after some time he was forced to return to it and was never able to leave it.
