Named for her mother, Rosa Belle Ruffin was the daughter of James Drury (1817-1886) and Rosa Ruffin (1816-1873). On June 8, 1869 she married Charles Wesley Graves. They had two children, Thomas Clark Graves and Martha Ella Graves Gilchrist. She and her husband were only married five years before she died at the early age of 27 years.
