William Preston Baten married Nora Harris on 28 December 1913 at Breckenridge, Texas. The couple moved to Wise County in 1921 and from there to Hall County in 1927. In 1963, the couple returned to Breckenridge, Texas.
William Preston Baten moved to Breckenridge in 1912. He farmed and ranched in Hall County from 1927-1947. He retired in 1962. Mr. Baten was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survived by his wife; two son - J.C. Baten and Bill Baten; two brothers - Winford Baten and Joe Baten; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Mrs. Flora Womack preceded her father in death.
