Ms. Matilda Oxford, of Mansfield/Hartford area, died Sunday, 08/07/2011, in Charleston, Arkansas. Ms. Oxford was 93 years old. She was a retired employee of Luby's Cafeteria in Fort Smith, Arkansas; a devoted member of Jamesfork Baptist Church; and a loving wife/mother/sister/grandmother/and friend.
Ms. Oxford was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Marvin Oxford; 1 child: Patricia J. Carter; and 2 brothers: John D. Rogers and Arthur Rogers.
She is survived by 3 children: Earl Oxford and his wife: Gerita and Everett Oxford and his wife: Velta all of Hartford, Arkansas, and Lois Acoach and her husband: Buddy, of Charleston, Arkansas; 3 sisters: Dorothy Ricardo, of La Habra, California, Martha Mathis, of Corona, California and Juanita McAlister and her husband: J.L. of Farmersville, California; 2 sisters-in-law: Myrtle Rogers of Maywood, California and Aubrey Rogers, of Inglewood, California; 16 precious grandchildren; 31 wonderful great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; other relatives; and many, many dear friends.
Services were held on Wednesday, 08/10/2011, at Jamesfork Baptist Church (between Mansfield and Hartford, Arkansas), at 10:00a.m.
Ms. Oxford was laid to rest at Coop Prairie Cemetery alongside her beloved Marvin.
Pallbearers were her grandsons.
