Deceased Name: Laura Albert
Laura Albert, 94, passed away at her home in Alsip, Ill., on Tuesday, Sept. 30, 2008.
She was born Jan. 1, 1914, in Grandin, Mo., to Robert and Ida Webb.
She was preceded in death by her late husband, Rev. Calvin Albert Sr.; one grandchild, Joseph Willis; and nine brothers and sisters. She is survived by two children, Dorcas Willis, Alsip, Ill., and the Rev. Calvin S. Albert Jr. (Lois), Hazelwood, Mo.; nine grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Calvin and Laura Albert were founders and pastored the First United Pentecostal Church, 11th and Broadway, Hannibal, from 1945-1984. Mrs. Albert was active in the Missouri District Ladies Auxiliary Ministries, and many other areas of ladies ministries.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. and the memorial service will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2, at the Lighthouse Church of All Nations in Alsip, Ill. The Rev. Dan Willis (grandson) will officiate. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 3, at Smith Funeral Home & Chapel in Hannibal. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4, at Apostolic Holiness Church in Hannibal. The Rev. Robert Axton, Pastor - United Pentecostal Church of Palmyra, Mo., will officiate.
Pallbearers will be Philip Willis, Dan Willis, John Willis, Andrew Willis, John Albert and Darrell Barton.
She will be laid to rest in the Grand View Burial Park, Hannibal, Mo.
Smith Funeral Home & Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
