10/6/1955-Tuttle Times:
Mrs Dora Ann Carr, 52, died at her home northwest of Tuttle, Saturday night. She had been bedfast the last year. She was born at Etna, Ark, but moved, as a child, to Stratford, OK. She later lived in Cordell & Oklahoma City before moving to Tuttle about 12 years ago. She was a member of the First Baptist church.

Services were held at the First Baptist church in Tuttle, Monday afternoon, with Rev R.A. Stacy, of Soldier Creek Baptist church, officiating. Music was provided by a trio consisting of Bill Irvin, Mrs Patricia Todd, & Mrs Brewer. Pallbearers were: Bill Hardesty, Ernest Stremer, Abe Heaston, Melvin Breedlove, Jesse Wright, & Thompson Ward.

Survivors are her husband, James Carr of the home, a daughter, Mrs Ruth Dennis of the home, her father, J.W. Abney of Stratford, 6 brothers, Vernon & Ernest Abney of Oklahoma City, Tom Abney of Pauls Valley, Jesse Abney of Stratford, Herman Abney of Los Angeles, Calif, & Ben Abney of Burbank, Calif, 3 sisters, Mrs Ruth Spurlock of Stratford, Mrs Bertha Kerr of Shawnee, & Mrs Betty Sizemore of Oklahoma City, and 1 granddaughter.

Burial was in Tuttle cemetery under the direction of the Capitol Hill funeral home.
