John Vanstrom Dies--
John August Vanstrom, 85, former resident of Lincoln, died at Louisville, Colo., Monday.
Born at Smoolen Sweden, he came to the United States when 14 years old. He came to Edgar, where he worked as a water-boy on the railroad.
He went to Lincoln in 1888 and ran a bar and billiard room at the Lincoln Hotel and the Lindell Hotel for 14 years. He later had a billiard room on N street (sic).
In 1919 he went to Omaha where he had billiard parlors until he retired and went to Colorado four years ago.
His wife, Hilma, died June 7 and was buried at Lincoln.
Surviving are his sons, R. A. of Denver and L. A. of Lincoln; daughter, Mrs. Lillian Semsack of Louisville, Colo.; nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
