Mrs. Ellen Bird, 91, of East Shawnee Avenue, Plymouth, died Sunday afternoon at her home.
She was born in Plymouth, a daughter of the late Harry and Stella Pugh Leeds , and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1937.
Mrs. Bird was a member of the First Welsh Baptist Church of Plymouth, where she taught Sunday school and was active member of the Ladies Aid Society. She was an avid bowler and had served as the auxiliary chaplain of Hose Co. 2, of Plymouth..
She was preceded in death by her first husband Sgt Albert Thomas who was killed in France in 1944 and by her second husband David Bird Sr.; a brother, Harry Leeds Jr.; and a sister, Elizabeth Rodgers.
She is survived by her son, David Jr., and his wife, Susan; two grandsons, David and Ryan, Plymouth; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. from the William A. Reese Funeral Chapel, rear 56 Gaylord Ave., Plymouth, with the Rev. Anita J. Ambrose officiating.
Interment will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Hanover Township.
