Born on Sept. 25, 1924, in Kanawha County, she was a daughter of the late Leonard and Edna Clear Walk. She was married to Charles A. Thomas in Charleston on Nov. 26, 1968.
Imogene attended Rodney United Methodist Church and was a homemaker.
Surviving: her husband, Charles A. Thomas of Bidwell; a daughter, Eileen S. (Glen) Hammons of Bidwell; a son, Joe L. (Blanche) Taylor of Chelyan; stepchildren, Cheryl Cornelius and Carol Sue (Michael) Newsbaum, both of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Linda (Memo) Barbosa of Warsaw, Ind.; seven grandchildren, David (Wendy) Hammons of Bidwell, Michael (Stefanie) Hammons of Jackson, Ohio, Cheryl (Jeff) McAvena of Vinton, Ohio, Charlene (Mike) Hemphill of Bidwell, Jo Ann (Tim) Coots of Miami, Steve Taylor of Virginia and Matthew Taylor of Cabin Creek; 15 great-grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren and one stepgreat-grandchild; several nieces and nephews; and a host of special caregivers from Holzer Senior Care Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Matthew J. Taylor, in 1967; and two brothers, Ivan and Richard Walk.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Sunday, July 9, at Willis Funeral Home, Gallipolis, Ohio, with the Rev. Jay Nesselroad officiating. Entombment will follow in the Ohio Valley Memory Gardens Mausoleum.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
