She was a native of Gwynn's Island and a member of Grace Baptist Church. She was born Aug. 7, 1922, to the late Luther and Annie Lee Brown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Weldon O. Diggs; seven brothers; and four sisters.
Mrs. Diggs worked many years at Nick's Seafood Restaurant in Yorktown. She retired in 2002 after 41 years as a school bus driver for York County.
She was a loving mother of two sons, Barry Diggs and Brian Diggs and wife, Renee, all of Williamsburg. She is also survived by two sisters-in-laws, Ruth Rowe of Gloucester and Betty Brown of Gwynn. She was a grandmother to Chris, Steve, Eric and Hailey Diggs and a great-grandmother to Dylan and River Diggs. She is also survived by a niece, Dolly Thompson, and a great-nephew, Bobby Lee both of Gloucester.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 3, at 11 a.m. in Foster-Faulkner Funeral Home Chapel in Mathews with burial to follow in Gwynn's Island Cemetery.
