Rosemary Oliver, 74, of St. Elmo, and formerly of Vandalia, died at 5:36 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2011, at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday at Hohlt and File Funeral Home in Vandalia, with the Rev. Pete LeDuc officiating. Burial will be in Pinhook Cemetery in rural Vandalia. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the church. Memorials: The family.

Mrs. Oliver was born on Oct. 29, 1936, in Vandalia, the daughter of John Daley and Alberda Carter Hoxey. She married Bob Oliver on July 8, 1951, in Vandalia.

She is survived by her husband; sons, Dallas Oliver and special friend Susan Barnes of Huntsville, Ala., and John Oliver and his wife Suzanne of Melbourne, Fla.; and daughters, Katie Cecilia and fiancé Sam Eastep of Altamont, and Cindy Oliver and special friend Gerald Milhoun of Vandalia.
