Daniel Jr. was chosen Deacon of the Hollis Congregational Church in 1775. He was also Coroner and High Sheriff of Hillsborough County in 1776. He was Captain of the Hollis Company that went to Ticonderoga in July 1776. He returned there after the Ticonderoga Alarm of 1777. He recruited a Hollis Company in 1778 for the defense of RI and did so again in 1779. He was a respected man in the town shepherded by his father Ref. Daniel Emerson. He became Town Clerk and Selectman in 1780-1781. He was also a member of the New Hampshire Counsel in 1787 and a delegate to the New Hampshire Constitutional Convention and 1791 and a Representative to the New Hampshire General Court for 19 years between 1780 and 1812. His homestead was at 1 Broad Street right across from the Hollis Church.
Daniel's other Spouse was Hannah (Varnum) Mosher.

C Wheat was Coolidge Wheat, son of Josiah Coolidge Wheat and Sarah Cummings. It seems his father was an apprentice of Mr John Ball and followed in his footsteps, then trained his son.
