ARTHUR BODENHEIMER of Philadelphia, PA, formerly of River Edge and Hackensack, NJ, passed away on Saturday, April 23, 2011 at the age of 90. Born in Frankfurt (M) Germany in 1921. Arthur escaped the Holocaust and came to the US in 1938. He was a publishing executive for 48 years, starting at Scholastic Magazines, and moved on to the Saturday Review of Literature, Pocket Books (Simon & Schuster), and retired in 1989 from the Benjamin Company, publishers of promotional books. He served in the US Army from 1942 - 1945 and participated in the Aleutian Campaign (Attu) and Marianas (Saipan). He received the Bronze Star and served in the US Air Force Reserve. He was a master story-teller, joke-teller and brilliant writer. His generosity and optimism were boundless. Husband of Suzanne (nee Ottenheimer), and adoring father of Peter (Deceased), and Joan Borowsky, son-in-law Ted, and granddaughters Lisa, Julie and Alison, all of Lafayette Hill, PA. Funeral Services at 1 P.M. at Temple Avodat Shalom, 385 Howland Avenue in River Edge, NJ with burial at Cedar Park and Beth El Cemetery in Paramus, NJ. Shiva at 7:30 P.M. on Tuesday, April 26 and Wednesday, April 27 in the Presser Lounge at Cathedral Village, 600 East Cathedral Road, Philadelphia, PA.
