One precious to our home has gone,
The voice we loved is stilled ;
A place made vacant in our home
can never more be filled.
Our Father in His wisdom
Called The boon His love had given;
And tho on earth the body lies,
The soul is safe in Heaven.
The death angel has again visited the home of Mrs. Denson and taken away Miss Delia, age 27 years. She was confined to her bed quite awhile before the great death reaper releaved her of her sufferings, yet she bore them with Christian patience and wove the golden threads of her own pure nature into the heart of others, as she met them, and filled their souls with a vision of the better land.
As a daughter she was all that the name implied; devoted to her mother and father - ever cheering them in her sweet and quiet way. Always speaking in a gentle voice which carried with it the loving assurance that the soul was ever aflame with Jesus' love. As a sister she was always kind and affectionate and as a friend none knew her but to love her. She was too pure to remain here on earth, so our Father saw best to take her to Himself.
Her last words were indeed comforting ones: "Mother do not grieve for me for I am going to rest." Thank God! for such words from a dying daughter.
She is missed so much in the home, but while we miss her we know where to find her; our loss is her gain. May the Lord comfort the bereaved, and may we all meet her in Heaven where parting will be no more.
