Ms. Lou Etta "Sunny" Welton, age 83, of Ekron, KY, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2011, at the Medco Center of Brandenburg. Sunny was born on June 12, 1928, the daughter of James Elvin and Menthy Elimine Branson. She was a member of Ekron Baptist Church, the Order of the Eastern Star, a Kentucky Colonel and volunteered for many years at the Meade County Clothes Closet. Sunny was preceded in death by four brothers, Harley, Jarvis, Charles and Bruce Branson. She is survived by two adopted sons, Stanley and Jimmy Welton, both of Brandenburg, KY, four sisters, Rosa Acree, Chesapeake, VA, Naomi Larouche, Chapman, KS, Diane James, Louisville, KY, Pat Kelly, New Berlin, WI, three brothers, Odis Branson, Radcliff, KY, David Branson, McDaniels, KY, Connie Branson, Louisville, KY, six grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 26, 2011, from the Ekron Baptist Church, with Rev. Charles Blanc, officiating. Burial will be in the Branson Family Cemetery in Ekron, KY. Visitation will be held at Hager Funeral Home, Brandenburg, KY, from 11-8 PM on Thursday, and after 9:00 AM on Friday. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Meade County Clothes Closet.
