Evelyn Creel Locklair EFFINGHAM, 55, widow of Johnnie Ray Locklair, died Thursday, August 25, 2011, at her residence.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M., Saturday, August 27, 2011, at Friendfield Pentecostal Holiness Church, 2019 S. Friendfield Road, Scranton, SC. Funeral services will be at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, August 28, 2011, at Friendfield Pentecostal Holiness Church. Burial, directed by Carolina Funeral Home, will follow in St. John Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Locklair was born February 18, 1956, in Florence County, a daughter of Jessie Lou Hicks Creel and the late Samuel Hubert Creel. She was a graduate of Hannah-Pamplico High School Class of 1974 and was a homemaker. She was a loving caregiver to her family, to children and all those in need.

Surviving are her daughter, Kimberly (Jeremiah "Bo") Scranton of Effing-ham; her grandchildren, Katlynn "MooMoo" Llewellyn and her grandson, Sammie Ethan Scranton, both of Effingham; her mother, Jessie Lou Hicks Creel of Effingham; her mother-in-law, Ruth Locklair of Pamplico; and a host of extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Samuel Ronnie "PeeWee" Creel.

The family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to McLeod Hospice for all of their care and concern for Mrs. Locklair and her family during this time.

In lieu of flowers, family request contributions be made to Carolina Funeral Home.
