Memorial reads:"IN MEMORY OF NAPOLEON PELLETIER BORN IN CANADA IN 1857. ZEALOUS PROPAGATOR OF THE DEVOTION TO STE. ANNE IN FLORIDA. GRATEFUL FOR HIS PIETY AND GENEROSITY, HIS FELLOW CITIZENS ARE HIS DEBTORS FOR THIS SANCTUARY (STE. ANNE SHRINE) WHICH HE BUILT AND MAINTAINED HIMSELF HE DIED AND WAS BURIED HERE MARCH 7, 1942.

I found the ruins of this shrine off of Saint Anne Shrine Road. I visited and photographed here several years ago. At that time this shrine was in semi ruin and in need of repair though it still was evident of the devotion and workmanship which went into building it. My mother grew up in the area and remembers religious services being held here. The story passed down through local lore says that a "finger bone of Saint Anne" is buried in the altar. The day I visited it appeared that the altar may have been vandalized.
