Charles V. Adkins Funeral Monday
Funeral services for Charles V. (Bun) Adkins were held Monday, March 5, at 2:00 p.m. in St. Paul's Lutheran Church with Rev. Wendell Berggren officiating.
Charles Vernon (Bun) Adkins was born Sept. 12, 1912, to Charles and Grace Thompson Adkins at Glasco, Kans.
Vernon spent the entirety of his life as a member of the Glasco community. He was united in marriage to Florence Matous on July 30, 1941. During the early part of his marriage he worked for the Union Pacific Railroad and was a truck driver. He also worked for the community and was a custodian at the Glasco Grade School until ill health forced his retirement.
He was a member of the Presbyterian Church.
He died March 3, 1973 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Concordia, Kansas.
He is survived by his widow, Florence; two daughters, Charlotte Decker, Wichita, and Dorothy Owen, Salina; two sons, Gene Paul, Glasco, and Joshua, Salina; three grandchildren; three brothers, Leo and Gerald, Glasco, and Carl, Wharton, Tex.; two sisters, Ida Studt, O'Fallon, Mo., and Dorothy Batchelor, Salina; and aunt, Pamela Thompson, Glasco; and many other relatives and friends.
Burial was in the Glasco cemetery.
Pallbearers were Gene Paul and Joshua Adkins, Jerry Decker, Wayne Owen, Thomas and Jeffery Adkins.
