Resident of the Wheatland Flats, was fatally burned in an explosion at his home Saturday morning as he was building the kitchen fire.

Mr. Rodriguez got out of bed and started the fire, but for some reason the fire did not seem to burn. He put a quantity of kerosene on it and the stove exploded setting him afire and burning almost over his entire body. He was taken to the Hospital but lived only until 2:15 that afternoon. The explosion also set fire to the house and burned a portion of the floor and some clothing. The other members of the family were not injured.

Funeral services were held from the Watson and Dennis Home for Funerals Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Father Martin performed the final rites and interment took place in the Wheatland Cemetery.

The deceased was born in Old Mexico on October 24, 1868. He came to the United States in 1920, his first wife, Delores (Perez) Rodriguez died in 1921 and he moved to Wheatland Wyoming and married, a widow, Mrs Juanita .......

Rafael is survived by two children by his first wife they are:
Mrs. Pete Apodoca and Manual Rodriguez
also survived his 2nd wife: Juanita(Olguin)Rodriguez, and four children: Jesus, Mary Lou, Mike and Jesusita.
