Prominent Man in Centerville Dies Monday
Richard Vogel, former supervisor of the Town Centerville and for a number of years town treasurer, died Monday afternoon at the home of a son, Louis Vogel, of Town Centerville after a lingering illness.
Deceased was born in Manitowoc, October 8, 1848, and on November 14, 1871, was united in marriage with Miss Paulina Lutze. A short time later the couple moved to a farm in TownCenterville, Manitowoc County.
He is survived by his bereaved widow, six daughters, Mrs. Fred Kolb, Town Centerville, Mrs. Ernst Siggelkow, Town Herman, Mrs. Louis Gabsch, Town Centerville, Mrs. Otto Sommer, Town Mosel, Mrs. Olga Petherick, Milwaukee, and Mrs. Hugo Wunsch, Town Mosel; three sons, Herman, Robert and Louis of Town Centerville, twenty-three grand children, two great-grandchildren, two brothers, William Vogel of Milwaukee and Herman Vogel of Chicago, and one sister, Mrs. Albert Ewald of Milwaukee. Two daughters preceded him in death.
Last rights will be held from the home of Louis Vogel, Town Centerville, at 1 p.m. Thursday and at 1:30 p.m. from Saint Peter and John Lutheran Church, the Rev. Springling officiating. Burial will be in the Saxon cemetery, Town Centerville.
