ELLISON, Gladys "Jackie," 87, of Wells burg, W.Va., passed away, Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011, peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Aug. 6, 1924, in Atoka, Okla., daughter of the late Eligh and Sarah Tomlinson Lain. Also preceding her in death are two brothers, Victor and Theodore Lain, and two sisters, Opal and Pauline.
She was a member of the Wellsburg United Methodist Church, retired from Stone and Thomas, in Wheeling, W.Va., and was a lifetime member of the Women of the Moose, and the V.F.W.
Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Ray C. Ellison, whom she married November 3, 1943, two sons, Dan Ellison, of Atoka, Okla., and Bob "Ace" Ellison, of Toronto, Ohio, four grandchildren, Dan Jr., Lain, Kyle, and Kelsey, seven great-grandchildren, Kaedyn, Karson, Kale, Danielle, Victor, Grace, and Aralyn.
Friends will be received on Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Chambers Funeral Home, 1030 Main St. Wellsburg, WV 26070, where funeral services will be held on Saturday, Sept. 3, 2011, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ron Rice, officiating.
Entombment will follow in Highland Hills Mausoleum, Follansbee, W.Va.
Women of the Moose services will be held on Friday, Sept. 2, 2011, at 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
