MOLINE — Mary M. Harness, 70, of Moline, died Saturday, September 1, 2011, at her home after a 26-year battle with cancer.
Funeral services are 10 a.m. on Tuesday at Christ the King Catholic Church, Moline. Entombment is in Greenview Mausoleum, East Moline. Visitation is from 2 until 5 p.m. on Monday at Van Hoe Funeral Home Ltd., East Moline.
Mary Marjorie Brennan was born September 23, 1940, in Rock Island, the daughter of Ralph and Marjorie (Glynn) Brennan. Mary attended Sacred Heart Grade School and Alleman High School, Rock Island. She married Richard Harness on December 20, 1958, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rock Island. Mary was very active in the King's Daughters. Her family was her life and she cherished her children and grandchildren. Mary's kind spirit touched the hearts of many.
Survivors include her husband, Richard; children (spouses), Elizabeth Roberts, Moline, Mitchell (Cathy) Harness, Silvis, Ill., Michael Harness, Moline, and Brian Harness, Bossier, La.; grandchildren; Amy, Mary, Alex, Jamie and Joanne; great-grandchildren, Gauge, Kaylee, Payton, Jorden, Prescilla, Isaac, Austin and Jack; and sisters, Kathleen Mills, Los Angeles, Calif., and Suzanne Brennan, Rock Island.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Tom Brennan.
