U.S. Congressman. He engaged in the manufacture of mason materials, held several local offices and was a member of the New York State Assembly, (1802-03). In 1813, he was elected as a Republican to the Thirteenth Congress, serving until 1815. After his term, he resumed his former manufacturing pursuits until his death at age 63.
