Floyd was attending a house-party where he fell down a stairway of cement steps. He suffered head trauma from the fall but refused medical attention.
Floyd was driven home in his car by his brother, Earl, who left Floyd laying in the back seat of the car. The following morning, Earl went to Floyd's home to check on him, and discovered Floyd, face down, deceased on the back seat of his car.
Cause: Accidental Asphyxiation
Since the Great Depression, Floyd did not trust any financial institution to keep his money safe. Instead of depositing his money in a bank, Floyd would put his money in large pickle jars with lids, and bury them in a pit that he dug on his property. After Floyd's death his family searched his property but never found the pit.
Floyd was a bachelor; no children; and, he had a twin sister, Florence.

Gravesite Details

The date of Floyd's birth year on his headstone is incorrect. Floyd was born in 1903.
