She was a graduate of what is now Mississippi University for Women, which recognized her as the oldest living alumni in 1992. She was the oldest member of Drew United Methodist Church, where she was a Sunday school teacher, and former president of United Methodist Women. She received life memberships from the Drew unit of the Women's Society of Christian Service and the Cleveland District W.S.C.S., which she had served as president. She was also past president of Drew Parent Teacher Association and Drew Garden Club, a member of Drew Civic League and had taught school in Eupora.
Mrs. Wofford, the widow of George W. Wofford, leaves a daughter, Mary Alice Gallaspy of Greenwood; four sons, George Conger Wofford of Drew, William Clyde Wofford of Memphis and Dr. J. L. 'Buddy' Wofford and Dr. John David Wofford, both of Jackson, 16 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
