Harry was 5 mos of age, born in December of the prior year, in the1880 census in Machiasport. He was living with his mother Lizzietta Renshaw with siblings Abbie, William, Nellie, Ernest, Frank, and Walter and Harry was the youngest. (His mother was married but father not in household and Lizetta was widowed in 1898.) In the 1900 census still in Machiasport with his mother Harry was age 20 and working in the sardine factory. There were three other siblings in that census born after Harry, Effie age 17, Thad age 15 and Lizzie M. age 9.

Harry married Alfreda May Stuart daughter of Samuel and Isabella (Colson) Stuart of Machiasport about 1905. They had children Ralph S. Clair born 1906, Teresa born 1908, Merle born 1912, Shirley born 1914 and Phyllis born 1917.

In 1930 Harry was 50 and working on a steamer as a "marine oiler" for the Maine Coast and Canada Steamship Co which sailed to Boston and back. In the census that year Harry was 50, wife Alfreda was 46 and working as a shipper in a factory and children at home were Merle age 17, Shirly age 15 and Phyllis age 12.

Eugene W. Renshaw, William W. Renshaw, Harry E Renshaw and Freda Renshaw Holmes are all in the same plot.
