The wife of a Wichita mortician died Wednesday of injuries suffered Friday in a car wreck in San Diego, Calif.
San Diego police said Mrs. Cornelia Paup, 56 the wife of James E. Paup, 285 S. Dellrose, had loosened her seat safety belt to get something from the back seat of the auto when another car ran a traffic signal and struck the Paup auto.
Mrs. Paup received a head injury and died without regaining consciousness.
Born Aug. 14, 1907, in Towanda, Pa., she attended Mr. Carmel Academy and the University of Wichita. She was a member of Plymouth Congregational Church, 20th Century Club, PEO, DAR, Wichita Art Association, and the Women's Investment Group.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Plymouth Congregational Church. Entombment will be in Old Mission Mausoleum.
Survivors include her widower; a daughter, Mrs. Jeffrey Hale, 1716 N. Fairmount; a sister, Mrs. Wihelmina Patterson, Media, Pa.; and a brother Charles D. Passage, San Jose, Calif.
