Coy K. Austin
Mr. Coy Koonce Austin, age 88, of Florence, died Thursday, Dec. 22, 2005, at his residence after a brief illness. He was a native and lifelong resident of Lauderdale County and was a member of Central Heights Baptist Church and the Shoals Men's Garden Club.
Visitation will be today, Dec. 23, 2005, from 1:30-3:30 p.m., at Greenview Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 3:30 p.m. at Greenview Memorial Chapel, with burial to follow in Greenview Memorial Park. Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Donnie McDaniel.
Mr. Austin was preceded in death by father, James Robert Austin; mother, Minnie Salera Austin; wife, Willa Mae Austin; five brothers, Douglas, Lloyd, Earl, John and Robert Austin; and sister, Althea Chowning.
He is survived by a son, Kenneth C. Austin and wife, Helen; brother, J.R. Austin and wife, Rita; sister, Reba Taylor, all of Florence; two grandchildren, Jonathan Kenley and Dickey Lane Austin; and four great-grandchildren, Christian Lane, Jonathan Brayden, Connor Nelson Austin and Ashley Bice.
Pallbearers will be Randle Austin, Harry Austin, Paul Austin, Charles Taylor, Glenn Moore, Lance Austin, Robert Austin and Dr. Robert Koonce.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Central Heights Baptist Church Men's Sunday School Class and the Shoals Garden Club.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central Heights Baptist Church or Underwood Baptist Church.
