Daniel Zeller was born in Tulpehocken Township, Lebanon County, Pennsylvania and baptised at the Trinity Tulpehocken Church on June 29, 1792. Believe he studied for the ministry at the Dutch Reformed Church at the SouthEast corner of Race & 4th Streets in Philadelphia, across 4th Street from the home of his future wife, Mary Kugler Sweitzer, widow of Henry Sweitzer. He and Mary were married August 21, 1816, by Rev. Joseph Turner of the Episcopal Church in Philadelphia. Daniel's namesake and probable uncle may have been the grocer Daniel Zeller who lived less than a block away at 115 Race St. in at least 1795. Reverend Daniel served as minister at the Jerusalem Reformed Church in Lehigh County from 1819 to 1851, at least. Daniel's parents were Francis Paul Zeller 1751-1821, of Lebanon County, and Elisabeth Aurand 1762-1819 of Berks County, PA.
