:Robert J. Dedering, age 81, of 1404 Jackson St. New Holstein died Monday, June 27, 2005 at the Calumet Medical Center in Chilton.

He was born Jan. 17, 1927 in New Holstein a son of the late Henry and Emma Mahlich Dedering. He graduated from New Holstein High School in 1942. Robert was drafted into the Army on March 27, 1943 and was discharged on Oct. 20, 1945. He received the Purple Heart along with several other ribbons and battle stars.

On Nov. 5, 1947 he married the former Catherine Dorn in Kiel, she preceded him in death on May 19, 2004.

Robert was employed as a machinist and a spray painter at MB Company, he retired in February 1986.

He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein, a charter member of the Calumet County Al Hertel Chapter 65 of Disabled American Veterans, a 50-year member of the New Holstein American Legion Post 124. Bob enjoyed gardening, playing cards, word puzzles, getting together with his children and grandchildren and an occasional visit to the casino.

Survivors include his four children, Diane (Tim) Deller of Arizona, Kris Dedering of Chilton, Bob (MaryLou) Dedering of Manitowoc and Tom (Jane) Dedering of New Holstein; four grandchildren, Eric, Ryan, Jason and Jennifer; two sisters, Rosalie (Norman) Dins and Loretta Rozman both of New Holstein; and two brothers, Alvin (Ethel) Dedering of Milwaukee and Walter Dedering of New Holstein.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a brother, Ray.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 2, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein. The Rev. Frank Weber will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call at the Sippel Funeral Home, 2618 Altona Ave., New Holstein on Friday, July 1 from 4 to 7 p.m. and again on Saturday at the funeral home from 9 to 10 a.m. when brief family rites will be held at the funeral home.

The Sippel Funeral Home in New Holstein is assisting the family.
