Mrs. Richard "Jack" Jones
LAFAYETTE -- Funeral services will be held at a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, Nov. 26, 2001, in St. Mary Catholic Church for Mrs. Richard "Jack" Jones, 66, the former Theresa Marks, who died at 10:51 p.m. Friday, Nov. 23, in Lafayette General Medical Center.
Entombment will be in Fountain Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
The Rev. Robie Robichaux, pastor of St. Mary Catholic Church, will be celebrant of the funeral Mass and will conduct the services. Jan Judice, accompanied on the organ by Deborah Duhon, will sing for the services "On Eagle's Wings," "Ave Maria," "You Are Mine" and "Come Home."
Survivors include her husband, Richard "Jack" Jones Jr., of Lafayette one son, Richard "Jack" Jones III and wife Melinda Levermann, of Dallas two grandchildren, Richard Jones IV and Camille Jones, both of Dallas and three brothers, Dona Dieu Marks and Percy Marks, both of Port Barre, and Floyd Marks, of Leonville.
She was preceded in death by her parents one daughter, Karen Ann Jones and three sisters, Effie Richard, Eula Richard and Georgia Lee Langlois.
A native of Port Barre and a resident of Lafayette for most of her life, Mrs. Jones was the daughter of the late Theophile Marks and the former Azalie Stelly, both natives of Leonville.
She was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Community, where she was a member of the St. Mary Choir and the St. Mary Ladies Altar Society. Mrs. Jones served as a Eucharistic Minister at both St. Mary Church and University Medical Center.
Pallbearers will be Michael Langlois, Kenneth Marks, Richard Jones IV, Kenneth Marks Jr., Mike Stagg and Percy Marks.
A rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. today in Martin & Castille Funeral Home.
Visiting hours will be observed from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until time of services Monday.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. Jones' name may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 52884, Lafayette, LA 70505.
