The former Margaret Fleming was born in Caledonia Township on May 2, 1898. A life-long area resident, she married William Earl Baird on Oct. 30, 1918, in Caledonia Township. She was preceded in death by her husband and one son, James. She was a life long member of the Caledonia Presbyterian Church and the Caledonia Presbyterian Womens Missionary Society.
Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Herman (Elaine) Smith and Mrs. James (Janet) Huebner, both of Portage, Mrs. LaVeme (Bonnie) Firari, of Columbus, Mrs. James (Peg) McDonald, of Monona, and Mrs. Bert (Nancy) Kupsinel, of Scarborough, N.Y.; one son, John E. Baird of Rancho Palos Verdes, Calif.; a sister, Mrs. Marion Harvey, of Portage; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. from the Caledonia Presbyterian Church. Rev. Paul Ashbrook will officiate. Burial will be in the Shanks Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Port-Axtell Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. The family suggests that memorials be made to the Caledonia Presbyterian Church.
