Jane and her sister, Sarah, who both died in 1856, are likely buried at Bear Branch Cemetery in Roberdell in now unmarked graves. Their parents were founding members of nearby Green Lake United Methodist Church, which opened in 1856. Green Lake was formed from the congregations of three smaller churches, including Bear Branch Church; however, the earliest marked grave at Green Lake is not until 1877. The earliest marked grave at Bear Branch is 1853. Their mother's Terry family owned the land on which Bear Branch is situated. Sarah and Jane's sisters, Catherine McLeod McNeill, Annie McLeod Ellerbe and Mary McLeod Gibson, are in marked graves at Bear Branch. Another sister, Frances McLeod McNeill, is also thought to be here in an unmarked grave.
