Our beautiful wife, mother & sister passed on from this mortal life Tuesday, February 17, 2009, and is now peacefully resting in the spirit world after a long and courageous battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Carolyn Chase Muhlestein was born December 6th, 1946, in Price, Utah, to Leland Keith and Pauline Bunnell Chase.

Carolyn was a very obedient child growing up and always wanted to please her parents. Starting at a young age Carolyn had a love of music and was very talented in singing. She was a contestant in the Miss Liberty Bell Pageant where she sang like an angel. After graduating from Provo High School, Carolyn went to Hollywood Beauty College and became a cosmetologist.

She married her childhood sweetheart Grant Gordon Muhlestein on August 15th, 1969, in the Salt Lake City Temple. Having a family was very important to Carolyn and Grant and they ended up having eight beautiful children together. Carolyn was a very fun and loving mother, sister and wife. She was a very kind and selfless person and was always sacrificing for her children.

Carolyn was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings including Den Mother, Camp Leader, Young Woman's Leader, Relief Society Chorister, and Primary Teacher.

Carolyn was the most happiest with her calling as a Mother and Wife and would spend all of her free time with her family because she loved them so much.

We are so grateful to all of the loving family members, church members and neighbors and Hospice nurses who have cared for her during her time of need.

"We love you Mom and Carolyn and can't wait to see you again!"

Carolyn is survived by her devoted husband Grant, her eight children, Tammy (Jon) McNaughton, Matt (Julie) Muhlestein, Clint (Delona) Muhlestein, Ben (Rebecca) Muhlestein, Michelle (Steve) Jordan, Jamie Hunters, Jenny (Andrew) Rudolph, Chris (Stephanie) Muhlestein and her 3 brothers, Stephen (Vivian) Chase, Douglas (Mary Ann) Chase and James (Kim) Chase, and sister, Mary Etta Chase. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Linda Chase Fackrell.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 28, 2009, at the Cascade 2nd Ward Chapel, 481 East Center Street, Orem. Family and friends may visit from 11-12:45 p.m. prior to the services. Interment will be held at the Orem City Cemetery.
