Mr. John Bowley of this city and whose home for a number of years ago been on Shirley St., died on Friday, July 21, after a long illness at the age of 63 years. Mr. Bowley has been a resident of Old Town about all his life. He was station agent at Pea Cuve for years but gave it up on the taking over of the road by the Bangor and the Aroostook railroad coming to this city where he has since lived. For a number of years he was flagman at the middle St. Crossing but had to give it up some years ago. He was a veteran of the Civil War. His funeral was held from the Baptist church Sunday afternoon at 1:30, Rev. F. A. Snow officiating. The interment was at Alton.
